Facephi has achieved significant improvements in biometric accuracy with its latest facial recognition SDK, according to recent evaluations by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The company’s facephi-002 SDK demonstrated a strong performance in NIST’s Facial Recognition Technology Evaluation (FRTE) 1:1 program, notably achieving a security threshold of one in a million (0.0001 percent False Match Rate).

The achievement marks another milestone for Facephi. The company has previously demonstrated its commitment to technical validation through compliance with financial intelligence authority requirements and has experienced significant growth during challenging market conditions.

NIST’s FRTE 1:1 program provides rigorous, standardized testing of biometric systems through blind evaluations, offering independent validation of crucial metrics including False Match Rate (FMR) and False Non-Match Rate (FNMR). The testing program has become increasingly competitive, with recent evaluations showing strong performances from global competitors, particularly firms from the Middle East.

Facephi’s SDK demonstrated particular strength in challenging scenarios, including facial verification with significant age differences and angled facial captures up to 45 degrees—areas where many biometric systems traditionally struggle. Facephi reported that its SDK outperformed several major biometric technology providers in specific test scenarios.
